Dr. Victor Miguel Ponce  is an expert in the field of hydrological engineering, with 41 years of experience in engineering education, research, consulting, and service.

His areas of expertise are: computational hydraulics and hydrology, surface-water hydrology, environmental hydrology, groundwater hydrology, ecohydrology, hydroclimatology, and hydrosedimentology. Specific areas of current interest are: online hydraulic and hydrologic engineering, salinity management, sustainability of groundwater resources, and hydrologic and environmental impact of water development projects.

Dr. Ponce has 33 years of experience as a university professor in Colorado and California. He is the author of a popular textbook (Engineering Hydrology, Principles and Practices, Prentice Hall, 1989), an online Fortran textbook, and more than 560 publications, including 49 refereed journal papers, 110 online computer programs, 93 legacy tales, and 17 webvideos. He is an active lecturer, researcher and consultant in his field, and is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
